Stray and Neglect Exposed in Jamaica
In just one year, shelters take in over 8,000 abandoned cats and dogs, with an additional 2,000 rescued or picked up through calls which is stark proof of the widespread neglect and cruelty animals face daily. These numbers represent only a fraction of the issue, as countless other cases go unreported or unnoticed. While shelters and rescues do their best, they are overwhelmed, underfunded, and often forced to make heartbreaking decisions due to limited resources. Addressing this crisis requires more than just rescue efforts, it calls for stronger animal protection laws, responsible pet ownership, and community involvement. Change starts with awareness, and you can help these animals by learning where to start.
