Montego Bay Animal Haven is dedicated to fostering compassion, community, and care through animal welfare. They aim is to educate and inspire individuals to take pride in their home environments, including the animals that share these spaces. By promoting spaying and neutering, they work to reduce the number of stray animals across Jamaica. They are committed to offering advice and medical support for animals in need, while encouraging a sense of compassion that begins with self and extends to others.
Things to consider before adopting
- Space & Lifestyle: Make sure your home is enclosed and safe, and that your lifestyle can accommodate the needs of a pet.
- Time & Commitment: Pets need attention, exercise, and care. Be ready to dedicate time to their well-being.
- Financial Responsibility: Pets need daily care including nutritious food, clean water, tick/flea prevention, and occasional vet visits for check-ups and treatments.
The Adoption Process
Adopting a pet is a simple and rewarding experience! Here’s what to expect:
- View Available Pets: Browse the pets currently up for adoption here.
- Complete the Adoption Form: Fill out the required Adoption Form.
- Get in Touch: Once you submit your application form send a email to mobayanimalhaven@gmail.com
- Pay Adoption Fee: A fee of $5,000 JMD applies for local adoptions.
For International Adopters (U.S. or Canada)
They use a volunteer flight escort system /Flight Angel Programme to deliver pets abroad, a more affordable and compassionate alternative to cargo shipping.
- Their team handles all paperwork and travel arrangements.
- International adopters only cover the export and transport costs.
- Since this process depends on volunteer flight availability, timing may vary.
